NIOC Announces Financial Model and Production Status for NG9-1-1 PCA |
The NG9-1-1 Interoperability Oversight Commission (NIOC) is pleased to announce the PSAP Credentialing Agency (PCA) is ready for production status and is ready to accept integrations in state and local ESInets. Available for review is a complete financial model (available here: https://ng911ioc.org/library/) which details all costs and fees for the PCA program.
“Speaking on behalf of the NIOC Commissioners, as well as the many people who helped get to this point in NG9-1-1 history, this is a tremendous milestone for Next Generation 9-1-1” says NIOC Chair Rick Blackwell. “NG9-1-1 standards have demanded that this NG911-specific security initiative be implemented for many years and, finally, NG911-specific security between agencies and ESInets is here! It is an honor for all involved in the PCA’s development to see this important landmark come to fruition.”
The PCA is the root of trust and security in the NG9-1-1 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and has been included in NG9-1-1 specifications from day one. It is a critical component of the secure trust infrastructure designed by standards development organizations in order to create 911-specific interoperability.
